PURPOSE:
The Bachelor
of Biblical Studies Program equips the Christian to serve his local church in
a more responsible, effective way. It adds specific skills to the foundational
education provided by Associate in Biblical Studies Program.
OBJECTIVE:
When the
student completes the degree, he or she should be able to:
- 1
.Have a working understanding of Old and New Testament History
- 2.
Interpret properly the content of the Bible
- 3.
Develop a meaningful devotional life and know the Word of God in spirit
as well as in letter
- 4.
Utilize research tools such as lexicons, concordances, word studies, technical
commentaries, etc.
- 5.
Launch a lifelong learning strategy for biblical research and self-study
Bachelor
of Biblical Studies
- CREDIT
REQUIREMENTS: A
candidate may elect to chose either of two options to complete the degree:
18 credits in electives to complete the Bachelor in Biblical Studies in
Theology or 18 Credits in one of three areas: a. Christian Ministry b. Christian
Education c. Christian Counseling.
The Bachelor Degree requires 120 credit hours (3-4 years) of course work.
This equates to 60 credit hours beyond the Associate Degree and a passing
grade on the New Testament Examination, which may be oral or written, depending
on the choice of the MVBI Staff. The following total number of credits is
required:
- 60
credits to complete the Associate Degree
- 18
credits in General Education
- 9
credits in Biblical Studies
- 9
credits in Theological Studies
- 6
credits in Christian Ministry
- 18
credits in Elective Courses
- Thirty
hours per year of active participation in a service-oriented ministry
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants
must have an Associate in Biblical Studies or its equivalent before admission
to the Bachelor of Biblical Studies program
ADVANCED
STANDING: Students
may receive advanced standing through credit transfer and credit for life experience
